5 Reasons the Fargo TV Show Is Just as Good as the Movie (buzzsugar?format=xml)

April 15, 2014 - 1:46 pm

As a fan of Joel and Ethan Coen's 1996 crime film, Fargo, you may understand why I've been skeptical about FX's TV adaptation. Why do we need a series when there's a perfectly good movie? What if some of the magic gets lost in translation? I felt a little better when I read that the Coens would be writers and executive producers on the series, but I still wasn't sure I could get into it - especially given how different it would be from the movie. I've never been more glad to be proven utterly wrong. The drama's supersize premiere airs tonight at 10 p.m. on FX, and I got a sneak peek at the episode. Read on to find out why this is your new must-see TV show. 1. **Billy Bob Thornton is magnetic.** Maybe I just haven't been paying enough attention to Billy Bob Thornton lately, but the guy is transformative here as a drifting hit man who shows up in town. He's slightly psychopathic (I mean, he murders people for a living), but you also kind of can't help but like him. It's a total mind trip. ...

This particular issue is a good one because Rick and Negan square off in a heated confrontation. The book has a nice pace to it and gives the reader a nice punch in the stomach to end the book. Geek Goggle Reviews: Walking Dead #124 (Comic List)

March 29, 2014 - 7:51 pm

**Brandon Borzelli's Geek Goggle Reviews** Walking Dead #124 Image Comics Kirkman, Adlard, Gaudiano & Rathburn The tenth part of "All Out War" is a fast moving read. The action is fairly limited considering where things left off last issue and the book sort moves to the next phase with little hype. It's a good issue for a variety of reasons but isn't perfect because it just feels like it's a roadblock to what comes next rather than an issue with its own drama and tale to be told. If anything, the book is always surprising and there are one or two of those in here. This is recommending reading. Full story » Original post blogged on ComicList.

The Walking Dead Retail Collection Announced (360Sync)

October 22, 2012 - 11:04 am

As Telltale's brilliant take on _The Walking Dead_ is nearing its conclusion, the publisher has pulled back the curtains on the series' retail editions. With a hopeful release date of December 4, _The Walking Dead_ retail edition will collect all five episodes of season one on one disc, wrapped up in a slick package. For those who have forgone the episodic releases in favor of a collected edition, fear not for price inflation; the standard retail edition will go for $29.99. But of course, it wouldn't be a retail release without a collector's edition, and _The Walking Dead_ packs a pretty sweet bonus in its special package. In addition to the game and an awesome box with art done by _The Walking Dead_'s Charlie Adlard, the collector's edition comes packed with _The Walking Dead Compendium One_, a 1,000+ page book that collects the first 48 issues of the acclaimed comic series. This is the perfect set for those looking for a gateway into _The Walking Dead_ universe, but it's a GameStop pre-order exclusive only, so you'd better pre-order it now!
